Hello, I’m Erin!

Hi, I’m Erin! I use she/her pronouns. I work as an Assistant Professor in Residence at UConn Avery Point in the Department of Physics and I conduct physics with a focus on disability in the sciences and moving the physics communities toward being more diverse, equitable, inclusive, and socially just.
By way of formal education, I earned a bachelor of science degree in physics from Michigan Technological University in 2007, a master’s of science degree in physics from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2011 and a Ph.D. in developmental education with a specialization in mathematics from Texas State University in 2017. I joined the faculty at Texas Lutheran University in 2012 where I developed and taught the introductory physics courses. From 2017 to 2020 I worked as a preeminent postdoctoral scholar at University of Central Florida. My biggest hobby is embroidery. Here are some of my recent projects:
